My Blissed Out, Back to Reality, Life.

It was my first day of work, last Tuesday, after being off of work for nearly 4 months. During this time, I got to travel to Montauk, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Santorini, Ios, Paros, Athens, Paris, Palm Springs, Mendocino, Yosemite, Shaver Lake, LA, Kansas City, and San Diego. I captured thousands of pictures from this time off, and I will cherish each of these moments in time where I was happily blissed out on vacation mode.  I worked my bum off to create this life of travel, and I had the support of my partner to not immediately get a job when we moved 3 hours away from Oakland to Fresno late September. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity and time off! Can I say, Hello reality check! However, the beauty in the reality check is, I can still have a blissed out day after a meditation practice that isn’t right by the ocean or on a day off. Can I get a HELL YA? These days where I find myself in alignment are so important to me, not only does writing help my growth process, but referencing this moment in the future helps my growth process. I hope this inspires you wherever you are on your spiritual growth process.

So lets rewind to the morning of Tuesday, November 27.

My morning alarm goes off, and go figure — I didn’t carve out enough time to incorporate my morning ritual. I didn’t sit down for a guided meditation. I didn’t choose a mantra for the day from my Moon Deck. I didn’t say positive affirmations out loud. I woke up, got ready, put on my scrubs, and headed into work.

However, instead of turning on my music or listening to a podcast while I drove to work, I choose to guide myself through a seated meditation. All I did was focus on my breath, “Inhale for 3, 2, 1. Pause. Exhale for 3, 2, 1. Pause. Again. Inhale, fill up, ribs expand out, belly pulls in. Exhale, breath out, buddha belly.” I put in 12 minutes of simply allowing time to create space for myself. I got to work, did a speedy orientation that included about 6 hours of using my brain to read, test, repeat. I tuned into my breath, read countless slides, and tested in over 12 subjects. Breathe, read, test, repeat. The next day will be the same way. That’s how a nurse traveler’s first day of orientation usually goes.

After getting off 15 minutes early (I practically ran out to my car), I was so ready to get home and meditate. I picked one of my favorite guided meditations, from Melissa, and started my meditation practice. It was instant. Boom. Tune in. Tap in. Turn on. I was there. I was in the vortex. High vibrational, present, grounded, inspired, and happy. This snowballed into having an enlightening practice from Briohny Smyth, who is one of my all time favorite yoga teachers. I did her class on alomoves, Harmonious Hips, which is from her fluid flexibility flows series.

I first met this beautiful soul in Oahu this past March when John and I went to Wanderlust. I still remember her class to this day. I was in the front left hand side, looking out at the ocean on an overcast morning. She was absolutely radiant, dressed in all Alo, and she had gratitude flowing from her. You could feel her vibe. I remember her teaching an up level power vinyasa, and I tried a different variation in headstand with my lower extremities for the first time. I remember thinking, “This is how I want to be as a teacher. I want to be able to emit this vibe.” The power in her presence is completely unparalleled. She holds a wisdom that is truly rare and magical. She is welcoming, warm, and radiant. She is a true goddess. The fact that her classes are on an application that I can connect with anywhere, anytime, anyplace is absolutely mind blowing. Thank you Alo Yoga for creating alomoves! There is so much not only I can learn from her, but what YOU – yes you reading this – can learn from her. Her words are pure magic, her energy is high, and she is the definition of a goddess! She is in the high vibrational vortex, and I’m getting there with her help. Thank you again, Bri, for being a role model and a beautiful light in this world!

My goal for myself with my work starting at 0700, is to be able to start going to bed early so I can wake up without having to hit the snooze button several times. I know that when I create space to meditate in the morning, I feel grounded, focused, and intentional. Morning meditation every day was my New Year’s resolution for 2018. However, I had no clue where such consistent practice would take me. It has become a true passion of mine, as it has transformed my life and opened my eyes to what and how a high vibrational life feels and looks like.

I know the importance meditation has in my life. It allows me to slip into the vortex to live out a high vibrational life on a daily basis. I know that to be true, because I have entered this vortex more and more lately with my consistent meditation practice and curiosity around energy. All I know to be true, is that I want to spend each and every day – for the rest of my life – in the vortex.

Why, you may ask? Because I am aligned with my higher purpose. I have an inner peace that no one and nothing can disturb. Personally, recognizing and pivoting my low vibrations, such as stress, fears, doubt, anxiety, or worry, has helped me tremendously in aligning to a high vibrational life. It’s a feeling of absolute happiness and complete gratitude for recognizing the every day miracles happening right in front off me. Because I’m actually able to witness these miracles in the present moment, so it makes them richer, and my heart feels fuller, and I know that I am absolutely where I need to be. I am love. I am light. I am radiating high vibrations. I am in the vortex.
